The blaze occurred on Clairanne Drive off of Kingswood Road. Fire crews discovered smoke billowing from the roof and garage of a two-story occupied residence.

The occupants were evacuated safely while crews worked to combat the blaze. New Fairfield Fire Department was also requested to the scene with two tankers in order to supply Danbury vehicles with water since the fire occurred in an area without hydrants.

Danbury Hospital EMS and the Fire Marshal's office were also requested to the scene.

The fire was successfully extinguished, but the house was unable to be reoccupied. Red Cross responded to the scene to provide assistance to the residence’s occupants. One occupant was evaluated and transported to Danbury Hospital Center to be treated for smoke inhalation.

At this time, the Fire Marshal’s office remains on the scene, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
